If you are having trouble setting up a live stream from your Riverside Studio, follow the suggested troubleshooting steps below to fix it.
NOTE:
The live stream video feed is not visible on other platforms until you also start the Recording on Riverside. It can take up to 20 seconds for a video feed to appear on external platforms.
If you are streaming to only one platform
- Go to the Live Stream section of the Studio's
Settings.
- On any platform you do not intend to stream to, turn its toggle off
.
- For the platform you want to stream to, go to its website and copy and paste the Stream URL and Stream Key into that platform's fields on Riverside.
- Generate a new Stream Key, if possible.
- Check on the platform whether the Stream URL starts with RTMP:// or RTMPS://.
If the URL includes the S, try removing it from the Stream URL field on Riverside.
- Check if the Studio's Security is set Private. Try changing it to Public.
- In the Riverside Studio, start recording to begin the live stream feed.
If you are streaming to multiple platforms at the same time
- Check if the Studio's Security is set Private.
- Try changing it to Public and start recording again.
- Go to the Live Stream section of the Studio's settings.
- Delete the text in the Stream URL and Stream Key fields for any platforms you do not want to stream to.
- In the Live Stream section of the Studio's settings, turn the Live Stream toggles off
for all platforms. (Riverside saves the Stream URL and Stream Key when the toggle is off.)
- Turn the toggle on
for just one platform at a time to test if the live stream works on that platform.
- If it does not work, go back to the platform and copy and paste the Stream URL and Stream Key into Riverside again.
- Generate a new Stream Key, if possible.
- Check on the platform whether the Stream URL starts with RTMP:// or RTMPS://.
If the URL includes the S, try removing it from the Stream URL field on Riverside.
- In the Riverside Studio, start recording to begin the live stream feed.
- Check the other platform to confirm whether the stream works.
- If the stream does work, continue enabling the toggles
for each platform and repeat the test with the next intended platform.
