Send messages to the host, producer, and guests

During a recording session, post messages in the studio chat. This is a great way to share a run-of-show schedule or call agenda, a URL to a website, or cue a speaker. 

Messages posted in the chat are visible to the host, producers, and guests. To send messages to audience members or viewers watching Riverside from a live stream, use the live stream chat.

Follow the steps below based on if you're using a computer or your mobile device.

  1. Send messages using a computer

    1. Using a computer, join a Riverside Studio on a web browser or the Mac OS app.
    2. On the right side menu, click chat-message-circle.svg Chat.
    3. In the sidebar on the right, click Everyone.
    4. At the bottom of the sidebar, type a message.
    5. Press Enter or click Send.

  2. Send messages using your phone

    1. Download and launch the Riverside mobile app.
    2. Sign in to the mobile app and join a studio as the host.
    3. At the bottom of the screen, tap the chat-message-circle.svgChat icon .
    4. In the field at the bottom of the screen, type a message.
    5. Tap Send to share the message.
      Incoming messages are also displayed at the bottom of the main studio screen. Tap the message to see the full chat.

    6. You do not see messages shared before you joined the studio. All messages are removed after the last participant leaves the studio.
