Start and stop a live stream

Once you connect a website to Riverside for live streaming, start the recording to stream your recording session live. 

Please note:

We are gradually releasing updates to live stream features. If you see Status=Disabled, Hover=Yes (1).png at the top of your studio, scroll to the bottom of the article for the beta version steps.

Step by step

  1. Using a computer, log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Under Studios, click the relevant Studio.
  3. Click Join Studio and connect as a Host or Producer.
  4. At the top of the Studio, click settings.svg Settings.
  5. In the Settings window, click Live Stream.
  6. Scroll to the platform/s you want to stream to (like YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
  7. Confirm that the toggle for each desired platform is On toggle-on.svg and the Stream URL and Stream Key are added.
  8. Close the Studio's Settings window.

  9. At the bottom of the Studio, click the Record button to send audio and video signal to the platform/s.
    It takes around 20 seconds for the video to appear on the sites you are live streaming to.
  10. Click the Stop button to stop both the live stream and the recording.
  11. Follow steps 4, 5, and 6 above to access the Studio's Live Stream Settings.
  12. Click the toggle next to each Live Stream platform to turn them Off toggle-off.svg.
    If you do not turn the toggles Off in the Studio's settings, the next recording session could automatically live stream to the external platform/s.

 

Step by step - beta version 

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. In the ☰ menu on the left, hover over the Studio, and click ••• [the three dots].
  3. Click Go to Studio.
  4. On the Lobby page, enter your details and click Join Studio.
  1. At the top of the Studio, click Live stream ready or Live stream off.
  2. Under Stream to social, hover over a social media account you have connected to Riverside.
  3. Click the toggle to turn the connection on toggle-on.svg
    The toggle is purple when it is on.
  4. At the bottom of the Studio, click Go live to start the live stream and recording.
    It takes around 20 seconds for the video to appear on the sites you are live streaming to.
  5. At the bottom of the Studio, click Stop to stop the live stream and recording.
