Riverside's cloud recordings are files recorded over the internet during the live call. After the call ends, you can download them as MP4 video files.
To convert a MP4 video file into an audio file, follow the steps below.

You can also download a participant's local High Quality Track in Raw Audio (WAV) or Compressed Audio (MP3) format or use the Editor to create and export an audio-only recording that combines the local High Quality Tracks.
Step by step – on a PC
- Download and install VLC Player, a free and open-source multimedia player.
- Download the desired participant's cloud recording or the session's All Participants cloud recording.
- Open the file in VLC Player.
- In the menu at the top of the program, click Media > Convert / Save.
- In the Open Media window's File tab, click + Add.
- In the file picker, select the cloud recording file from step 2 and click Open.
- In VLC's Open Media window, click Convert / Save.
- In the Convert window, next to Profile select Audio – MP3 on the dropdown menu.
- Next to Destination, click Browse and select a folder on the computer.
- Click Start.
The audio is saved as a new MP3 audio file.
Step by step – on a Mac
- Download the desired participant's cloud recording or the session's All Participants cloud recording.
- Open the file in Quicktime Player.
- In the menu at the top of the screen, click File > Export As > Audio only.
- Choose a location for the new file and click Save.
The audio is saved as a new M4A audio file.
