I see ‘An error occurred: StartingBroadcast / ArchiveBroadcast’ in the Studio

Troubleshooting for:

  • Seeing the message An error occurred: StartingBroadcast or An error occurred: ArchiveBroadcast
  • Unable to record
  • Unable to start a live stream from the Studio

General troubleshooting steps

  • Refresh the page.
  • Join a different Studio (or create a new one) and check if the error appears there.

Troubleshooting if the Studio is set up for live streaming

  1. Join the Studio using a computer.
  2. Click settings.svg(Settings icon) to access the Studio's settings.
  3. In Settings, click Live Stream, then continue below.

If you do not plan to live stream during this recording:

  1. Click the toggle next to any live stream service that is on toggle-on-UI_comp.png and turn it off toggle-left.svg.
  2. Close x-circle.svg the Settings window.
  3. Click Record to start a new recording.

If you do plan to live stream during this recording:

  1. Look for any live stream services that are on toggle-on-UI_comp.png.
  2. For each service, check that the Stream URL and Stream Key fields have the correct information.
  3. Add new Stream URL and Stream Key information from the other platform/s.
  4. Close x-circle.svg the Settings window.
  5. Click Record to start a new recording.
