How can I check my connection before a call?

Riverside is optimized to record your separate high-quality track even with a spotty internet connection, but we recommend using a connection with a download speed faster than 10 Mbps and an upload speed faster than 5 Mbps to maintain a smooth live conversation with other participants.

Riverside users and their Guests can check the stability of their computer's internet connection for audio/video conferencing and confirm connectivity with Riverside using this pre-call diagnostic test  or see these step-by-step instructions.

To check your connection on a mobile device, follow these steps.

TIPS:
We highly recommend you temporarily turn off any VPNs, browser extensions, content blockers, or firewalls before recording, even if your connection passes the pre-call test. Read more at Advanced: Configure Your Firewall to Connect to Riverside.

If a participant's poor internet connection is disrupting the conversation, the Host or Producer can enable Low Data Mode to turn off all participants' live video but keep recording it.
