If your Android device has its microphone sensitivity too low or too high, check to see if another app is using the mic, which can change its behavior.
NOTE:
Android devices do not have a specific way to adjust audio input level for the built-in mic.
The links below have information on connecting external microphones.
Advanced: Check if other apps are changing the microphone
Third-party Android apps can change the behavior of the microphone. Follow the steps below to check which apps have permission to change the microphone.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Scroll to Permissions.
- Tap Microphone.
- Allow or Deny microphone access to third-party apps as needed.
- Restart the device and check the input volume level.
IMPORTANT:
A Host or Producer can adjust a participant's output volume to balance the sound during the live call, but this does not change the audio signal that is recorded.
