If you are using a Mac and have not shared your browser's screen before, enable it in System Settings, then quit and reopen the browser. Set this up before you start recording.
- Using a web browser or the MacOS app, join a Riverside studio.
- At the bottom of the screen, click Share and choose Screen.
- In the pop-up, choose the source: an individual browser tab, a specific window, or the entire screen.
- If relevant, check Share audio to include the screen share's sound. Please note that at this time, you cannot share the screen share's audio if you are recording using the MacOS app.
- Click the Share button to confirm.
Your screen is visible to all other participants, including those using the mobile app.
Good to know
- For best results during a screen share, do not change the size of the shared browser window or program while recording.
-
Screen share video tracks are recorded locally on each participant's individual device and then are uploaded to Riverside during the session or right after it ends.
- The frame rate for screen shares in the browser is 30 FPS.
- The frame rate for screen shares on the MacOS desktop app is 24 FPS, and Business plan users can adjust it to 25 FPS or 29.97 FPS.
-
The quality of the screen share audio tracks depends on the internet connection of the participant sharing their screen.
- To share a video, we recommend using the Media board, since is less processor-intensive for your computer.
