Change default resolution in the studio

For faster uploading and processing, the standard resolution of recorded video tracks in the Riverside studio is 720p HD.

If you or a participant use a camera that can record 1080p (HD) or 2160p (4K) resolution video, increase your studio's maximum resolution to Advanced.

  • Before a studio session

    1. Log in to your Riverside account.
If you have multiple studios, select the relevant studio.
    2. From the sidebar on the left, click Settings
    3. From the tabs at the top, click Recording.
    4. Scroll down to video.svg Video.
    5. Choose between Standard resolution or Advanced.
    6. If using Advanced, click the toggle for Up to 1080p or Up to 4K HD.
The next recording in this studio will use the selected video resolution.

Icon.svg Good to know

  • Riverside never forces your device to record at a higher or lower resolution. You can set your resolution in the Studio, however this is seen as a 'request' to the recording device. Most often, the device will accept Riverside's 'request' and record at the suggested resolution. However, it is possible that the device 'rejects' the request and records at its capacity/current settings, whether that capacity is over or under the Riverside settings.
