Manually pause or resume a participant's track upload in the Studio

« To Studio sidebar: Overview

By default, each participant's local High Quality Track automatically starts uploading during the call. However, if someone has low internet bandwidth or low processing power on their computer, you can pause a participant's track upload.

This improves the quality of the live recording by enabling the participant's internet bandwidth and computer processing power to be entirely dedicated to the live session.

Pausing does not reduce the quality of the recorded track and participant's upload resumes when you stop the recording.

Step by step

  1. Using a computer, join a Studio as the Host or as a Producer.
  2. Enable Pause uploads in the Studio's settings.
  3. At the bottom of the Studio screen, click Record.
  4. On the right side menu, click people.svgPeople.
  5. Next to a Guest or the Host, click the chevron-down.svg down arrow.
  6. Under Input & Output, click ⏸ Pause upload.
In the people.svgPeople panel, next to the participant's name, displays Upload paused.
The upload indicator at the top of the studio remains and the upload percentage decreases as the recording continues.
