Overview
After every studio session, Riverside creates a cloud recording file for each individual participant, as well as one track with all of the participants' cloud recordings combined.
The cloud files are recorded over the internet during the live call. The audio and video quality of these recordings depend on each participant's internet connection, meaning some cloud recording files may have a lower resolution than the locally recorded high quality tracks.
Using cloud recordings
- Cloud recordings are useful as a backup reference and for reviewing the conversation while the high quality tracks are processing or uploading.
- In cases where you only have a partial high quality track, you can rely on the cloud recording as a workaround by downloading it and re-uploading it to the editor.
Cloud recording types
Single participant's cloud recording (MP4)
- Each participant's cloud file is available as a video MP4 file.
- The track has a maximum resolution of 720p and it may have a variable frame rate.
- Download a participant's cloud recording file on the studio's recording session page.
All Participants' combined cloud recording (MP4)
- Cloud video tracks from all recorded participants in one file, as seen during the live call.
- Tracks are arranged in a gallery view in one file, which may have a variable frame rate.
- Download the All participants' cloud recording file on the studio's recording session page.
Audio-only cloud recording (MP4)
- Audio-only cloud recordings are generated when the studio is set to record only audio, and not video.
- Just like video recordings, separate cloud recordings are created for each participant and one single cloud recording is created with all of the participants' tracks combined.
- These cloud recordings still include participants' videos, as seen during the live call.
Important notes
- Echo cancellation is always enabled on cloud recording files.
- Starting from July 2024, several studio branding elements, such as logos, background images, and colors (not including gradient backgrounds), added in the studio appear in the cloud recording. These are not in the individual high quality tracks.
- If a participant's camera is turned off while recording or Low Data Mode is enabled, their video won't be included in the cloud recording file. A generic silhouette will show in place of a video.
