« To Join a studio session: Overview
As host, you start and stop the recording in the studio and you are recorded along with your guests. You can also accept guests and producers waiting in the lobby, when using a computer, the Riverside MacOS desktop app, or the Riverside iOS app. Only one person can join the studio as the host.
Step by step
Follow the steps below based on if you're using a computer or your mobile device.

Join a studio as a host using a computer

Log in to your Riverside account on a web browser or the Mac OS app.
If you have multiple studios, select the relevant studio. - From the top of the page, click
Record.
- On the lobby page, enter your name.
- Click to indicate whether you are using headphones.
If you haven't used Riverside before, click Request Camera Permissions so the browser can access your microphone and camera. Click Allow. - Look for the video preview on the right side of the page.
Use the menus to select a mic, camera, and speaker. - Click Join Studio to join the call.
You can also Join as a producer using the link at the bottom of the lobby page. Producers are not recorded but can be seen by other participants.

Join a studio as a host using your phone
- Download and launch the Riverside mobile app.
- Tap Record.
- On the lobby screen, preview your video.
If asked to grant access to the microphone and camera, tap Allow. - Tap the
camera or
microphone to turn them off or on.
- Choose your device's orientation - horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait). (optional)
- Tap
to select a camera, either front-facing or back-facing. (optional)
- Tap ••• [the three dots], then tap
Use as a second camera to set up your device as a second camera. (optional)
- On the bottom of the screen, tap Join to enter the studio.
NOTE:
Join as the host from a computer for additional participant management functions. On iOS, the host and producers can accept participants waiting in the Lobby.
