Add Stream Key and Stream URL to a Studio's Settings

To configure a live stream, first generate a unique Stream URL and Stream Key on each platform you want to stream to. Then, follow the steps below to add the URL and key to your Riverside Studio' settings.

Step by step:

  1. On a computer, open a new browser tab and log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Click Home.
  3. Access the settings of the Studio you want to stream from by clicking the Settings (gear) icon.
  4. In the Live Stream section, scroll to the platform you want to stream to (like YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.) and click the toggle.
    TIP:
Keep the Riverside browser tab open and copy the Stream URL and Stream Key from the other site.
  5. On the other platform's site, copy the Stream URL.
  6. Return to the Riverside Studio's Settings panel and paste the Stream URL.
    NOTE:
If the custom service provides a URL that begins with rtmps://, use the same URL on Riverside but remove the letter Srtmp://.
  7. Repeat for Stream Key: on the other platform, copy the Stream Key.
  8. Return to the Riverside Studio's Settings and paste the Stream Key.

NOTES: Chat Visibility and Video Quality
Viewers watching on other platforms do not see your Riverside Studio's sidebar chat. To see any chat or comments posted by viewers on another platform, open that site in another browser window or on another device with its volume off.

Live streams have a maximum resolution of 720p. The separate video files you record can be higher resolution and are not impacted by the quality of participants' internet connections.
