Live stream to Facebook profile

Live stream your Riverside recording session to your Facebook Timeline profile to reach a broader audience. You can also live stream to a Facebook page or Facebook group, or schedule a live stream for a later time.

You only need to set up the live stream connection to your Facebook profile once. After that, go live by following these steps.

Set up the live stream connection to your Facebook profile

To live stream to a Facebook profile, you must have:

Step by step

  1. Join a studio session as the host or producer.
  2. At the top of the studio, click + Live stream.
     Or, click the justheplus.svg add live stream destination icon.
  3. Next to Live stream to social, click the toggle toggle-on.svg to turn it on.
  4. Select facebook-circle.svg Facebook.
  5. In the Connect your Facebook account pop-up, choose Facebook profile.
  6. Click Continue with Facebook.
  7. Log in to Facebook.
  8. Click connect.
  9. Under Connect your Facebook profile, choose the profile to connect to Riverside.
  10. Click Got it.

Go live on your Facebook profile 

  1. Join a studio session as the host or producer.
  2. At the top of the studio, click + Live stream.
     Or, click the justheplus.svg add live stream destination icon.
  3. Next to Live stream to social, click the toggle toggle-on.svg to turn it on.
    • This toggle must be turned on for Riverside to connect to your destination platforms.
  4. Next to your Facebook profile destination, click the toggle toggle-on.svg to turn it on.
  5. Add a title for the stream
  6. At the bottom of your Riverside studio, click Go live.
  7. Click Start recording to start the live stream.
    It may take around 30 seconds for the video to appear on Facebook.
  8. After you go live, ensure that the permissions on your post are set for the right audience:
    1. In another tab, log into your Facebook account.
    2. Go to your profile.
    3. On the top corner of your live stream post, click the three dots to open the menu.
    4. Click Edit post.
    5. At the top of the post, under your name, click the current audience (i.e. Only me, Friends, Public).
      If you want to receive messages from people watching the live stream on your Facebook profile, you must set the Facebook post to Public.
    6. Select the correct audience.
    7. Click Done.
