Live stream your Riverside recording session on YouTube to reach a broader audience.

You only need to set up the live stream connection to YouTube once. After that, go live by following these steps.

Set up the live stream connection to YouTube

To live stream to YouTube, you must:

Step by step

  1. Join a studio session as the host or producer.
  2. At the top of the studio, click + Live stream.
     Or, click the justheplus.svg add live stream destination icon.
  3. Next to Live stream to social, click the toggle toggle-on.svg to turn it on.
  4. Select youtube-circle.svg YouTube.
  5. In the pop-up, under the details on Google's User Data Policy, tick the box next to I agree.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. In the new window, sign in to your Google or YouTube account.
  8. Click Connect
  9. Under Select what Riverside.fm can access, tick the box next to Manage your YouTube account.
  10. Click Continue.
  11. Click the YouTube channel to stream to.
  12. Click Done.

Go live on YouTube

Important! If you've never live-streamed to Youtube before, run a test stream at least 24 hours before any further scheduled streams. For first time streamers, Youtube takes 24 hours to activate.
  1. Join a studio session as the host or producer.
  2. At the top of the studio, click + Live stream.
     Or, click the justheplus.svg add live stream destination icon.
  3. Next to Live stream to social, click the toggle toggle-on.svg to turn it on.
    • This toggle must be turned on for Riverside to connect to your destination platforms.
  4. Next to the youtube-circle.svg YouTube logo, click the toggle toggle-on.svg to turn it on.
  5. Add a title and description for the stream
  6. Set the privacy settings of the live stream on YouTube.
    If you want to stream privately, you must configure the settings on Youtube to private as well as within Riverside. 
  7. At the bottom of your Riverside studio, click Go live.
  8. Click Start recording to start the live stream.
