Prepare for an executive interview

« to Overview: Configure firewall to connect to Riverside

When preparing for an executive interview, especially with a guest from a company with strict security protocols, it’s important to ensure everything is set up in advance.

  1. Run a connectivity test with the guest's personal assistant (PA) in advance

Before the interview, make sure you coordinate with your guest's PA to conduct a connectivity test. This will ensure that everything is working and there are no last-minute technical issues.
  2. If you encounter a firewall Issue

If you discover that a firewall is blocking the connection, it’s important to know that the firewall may be part of your guest's organization. Riverside cannot bypass or modify any organization’s security settings. Only the organization's IT team can resolve this issue by whitelisting Riverside.

  3. My guest's organizational firewall cannot be removed

If your guest’s organization cannot remove or adjust the firewall, Riverside will automatically switch to a fallback public server if the primary server is blocked.

    • The fallback public server is designed to be more accessible and is often less restricted by organizational firewalls, as it is typically already whitelisted by most organizations.
    • However, the fallback server may not offer the same performance as the primary server. As an alternative, you can suggest that your guest connect using a personal device (like a laptop or mobile phone) on a different network, such as their home Wi-Fi or mobile data.
