Schedule a live stream to social platforms

Schedule live streams in advance and stream them directly to YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn, making it easy to build excitement and plan effectively. Once the session is created, you can go live at the scheduled time without any additional setup in the studio.

IMPORTANT: Connect social media accounts to Riverside before scheduling your event

To ensure a seamless streaming experience, connect your YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn accounts to Riverside via the studio before scheduling an event. 

Step by step

  1. Go to the studio and check if any social destinations are toggled on. If any are enabled, toggle them off.

  2. Schedule a studio session.
  3. From the scheduling page, to the right of Livestream destinations, toggle on toggle-on.svg to enable it.
  4. Next to the desired live stream destination (YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn), toggle on toggle-on.svg to add it. 

    • Click the three dots, then Edit details next to each destination to edit individual descriptions that appear on each platform. Otherwise, by default, the description you add in the scheduling menu appears on each destination.
  5. Next to each destination, click Thumbnail and upload a custom thumbnail image.
    Only PNG or JPG files are supported.
  6. Click Create session.
  7. Next to each destination, click Copy link
    Share the link over email, social media posts, text messages, ect. for people to join the live stream.

IMPORTANT

To modify the social media destinations for streaming, go to the scheduled event and toggle the destinations on or off. Make these changes only from the event, not in the studio.

Update Facebook settings after connecting

When connecting to Facebook for the first time, you need to update your privacy settings after connecting:

  1. Go to Facebook.com.
  2. Navigate to Settings.
  3. Select Apps and Websites.
  4. Find Riverside in the list and click View and Edit.
  5. Under audience settings, change Only Me to Public.
  6. Click Save

Start scheduled live stream

  1. From the project page, click Join session.
    The studio opens with the livestream panel displayed, and the scheduled destinations already toggled on toggle-on.svg.
  2. At the bottom of the studio, click Go live to start the live stream and recording.
    It takes around 30 seconds for the video to appear on the sites you are live streaming to.

  • To fully delete a scheduled live stream, you must delete the scheduled stream directly on the destination platform as well as from within Riverside.
