Adding comments to the transcript streamlines your editing process by pinpointing specific moments for revision, adding internal notes, and enabling quick feedback. You can comment on selected text or insert comments between words.

Step by step
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.

In the Transcript, click between words to add a comment.
Or click and drag to highlight the text you want to comment on. -
Click Comment.

Type in your comment and click Comment.
On the transcript, comments are underlined and appear as Comment icons on the right side, aligned with the corresponding text.
On the timeline, comments appear as purple dots above the relevant spot.
Edit a comment
- Click the Comment icon on the right side of the transcript.
Or, on the timeline, click the purple dot . - Click the Edit icon and edit your text.
- Click Save.
Delete a comment
- Click the Comment icon on the right side of the transcript.
Or, on the timeline, click the purple dot . - Click the Remove icon.
- Click Remove.
Add text to a marker
A marker added during recording will appear as a comment in the editor, serving as a reference point that you can later edit to add text or notes as needed. To add text to a marker, follow these steps:
- Click the marker on the on the right side of the transcript.
Or, on the timeline, click the purple dot . - Click the edit icon and enter your text.
- Click Save.
Copy the comment list
Pro and Business account users can copy the comment list.
- At the top of the transcript click the ••• three dots icon.

Click Copy comments.
The comment list is copied to your clipboard.
Good to know
- Once added, each comment is time stamped and saved to the edit.
- You can add multiple comments to the same point.

For Business accounts: Any user with a seat on your Business account can see the comments you add. However, the comments do not include the commenter's name.
IMPORTANT
Please note, comments are intended for editing purposes only. They do not carry over when you duplicate or export.
