Mute unwanted background noise (Smart Mute)

Mute participants when they're not talking to remove ambient noise and ensure the speaker is heard clearly.

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  1. On the editor toolbar, click AI Producer.
  2. Next to Smart Mute, click Apply
    All non-speaking portions of the recording are muted. 

    Muted sections appear as greyed-out areas in the timeline.

Apply Smart Mute to individual tracks.

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  1. On the right side of the timeline toolbar, click the Group 672972431.svg Expand tracks icon. 
  2. Select the relevant track.

  3. On the left side of the timeline toolbar, click the magic.svg Magic Tools icon.

  4. Next to Smart Mute, click Apply
    All non-speaking parts of this individual track are muted.

Restore muted sections

  1. On the editor toolbar, click AI Producer.
  2. Click Smart Mute.
  3. Click Revert.
