« to Track file uploading: Overview
Although participants may occasionally leave before completing their upload, you can start working with available content promptly.
Understanding Partial High Quality Tracks
A partial high quality track refers to a recording that hasn't finished uploading after a studio session. This means that Riverside only has part of a participant's recording.
Next steps
- Send upload instructions to a Guest who left the studio too soon, so that you can have their full high quality track as quickly as possible.
- In the meantime, you can start reviewing the available portions of the recording in the dashboard while waiting for any remaining uploads. Since you don't yet have a full recording, the Editor will be temporarily unavailable to ensure you're creating content with full high quality tracks.
- If time is tight, after 30 minutes, you can edit the recording with partial tracks, however it's highly recommended to wait for each participant's track to finish uploading.
- When you open a recording with a partial track in the editor, the missing recording segments appear as a black video with silent audio and are omitted from the transcript. This is to ensure that everything is in sync between tracks on the recording.
- If you begin editing with a partial track, you will need to start a new edit once all the tracks are uploaded.
Using Cloud Recordings
Cloud recordings are typically used as a backup or for reviewing the conversation while waiting for the high quality tracks to process. In cases where a participant never finishes uploading their track, you can rely on the cloud recording as a workaround.
- If you'd like to edit the recording, download the all participants cloud recording and re-upload the track to the editor. You can also add the cloud recording file to the recording timeline and trim it to fill in the missing parts. Please note that single track editing features cannot be used on cloud recording files.
- If you need the participant's separate track for external editing, download the individual participant's cloud recording file.
It's important to understand that cloud recordings depend on each participant's internet connection and may have a lower resolution compared to locally recorded high quality tracks.
