Step by step
- Join a studio as the host or as a producer.
- Click the People icon to open the sidebar.
- Next to the participant's tile you want to move backstage, click Hide.
The participant is removed from the main feed and their recording stops.
Their tile in the People panel turns black and white with the label Backstage. - Click Show to return a participant to the session.
When a participant is hidden, their video and audio are off, so they cannot be seen or heard by anyone in the studio or watching the stream. You can move as many participants as you'd like on and off stage, however hide or show must be clicked per participant.
Good to Know
- At this time, producers cannot be moved backstage. If a producer's camera is on and you want them to stop being visible, the host can turn off the producer's camera on their behalf.
- In the final recording, hidden video tracks appear as black tiles. From the editor, you can remove the black video tiles by adding a scene and hiding those tracks for the periods where the participant was backstage.
