Set video resolution for live streaming

By default, live stream videos are broadcasted in 720p resolution. With the Riverside Live add-on or a Riverside for Business plan, you can set the video resolution for the live stream broadcast up to 1080p.

Before a studio session

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
    If you have multiple studios, select the relevant studio.
  2. From the sidebar on the left, click Settings
  3. From the tabs at the top, click Live stream.
  4. Next to Streaming resolution, choose 720p or 1080p.

During a studio session

  1. Join a studio session as the host or producer.
  2. At the top of the page, click the settings icon.
  3. Click All settings at the bottom of the panel.
  4. On the left side panel, click Live Stream.
  5. Scroll down to Stream settings.
  6. Next to Streaming resolution, choose 720p or 1080p.livestream-res.png

  • Setting the streaming resolution only impacts the video resolution that the audience sees on the channels you broadcast to. The local recording files will still be in the resolution you set.
  • The final resolution of your video may be different from the resolution you set in the studio. Your device's capacities and internet connection can influence the quality of the live call.
