Copy and paste transcript text to move or duplicate timeline content

When you edit your recording from the transcript, you can cut or copy the text, then paste it elsewhere in the transcript. This moves or copies the corresponding part of the media timeline to where you pasted the text.

Step by step

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  1. Click and drag your mouse to highlight the desired text section.
  2. On the menu, click ••• [the three dots].
  3. Choose Cut or Copy.

  4. Click the desired place in the transcript to add the section, like at the start of a chapter or sentence.
  5. On the menu, click ••• [the three dots].
  6. Click Paste.

You can also use the keyboard shortcuts:

  • +X or Ctrl+X to cut selected text or timeline selection
  • +C or Ctrl+C to copy selected text or timeline selection
  • +V or Ctrl+V to paste selection
