How can I import my recording timeline to DaVinci Resolve?

Plan: Standard, Pro, and Business accounts
Device: Computer Browser

After you record in the Studio, you can export and download the recording timeline. The ZIP file includes your high-quality tracks and other files formatted to easily import and edit in DaVinci Resolve.

Step by step

  1. Using a computer, download and install DaVinci Resolve.
  2. Download and open the ZIP file exported from Riverside.
    Important:
    Choose the option to export your timeline formatted for Final Cut Pro.
  3. Extract or unzip the ZIP file to a location on the computer.
    Follow these instructions for Windows or Mac.
  4. In DaVinci Resolve, open or create a new project.
  5. Click File > Import > Timeline.
  6. Using the file selector, navigate to the folder created in step 3.
  7. Select the XML file (export.fcpxml) and click Import.
  8. In the Load XML window, click Ok.
    A pop-up appears with: '# of # Clips not found. Do you want to select another folder to search?'
  9. Click Yes.

  10. Use DaVinci's file selector to choose the same folder you unzipped the files to.
  11. Next to Path Name, click Ok.

    The recording loads on DaVinci's timeline and its assets are added to the project's Media pool.

You may need to arrange and resize video track tiles, as all the tracks are centered and overlapping by default.
