Change the aspect ratio of video frames in Editor

When you customize a recording in the Editor, you can adjust the layout so each video uses the same aspect ratio as it was originally recorded. Preserving the aspect ratio usually adds more between the video frames.

Step by step

  1. On a computer, log in to your Riverside account.
  2. In the ☰ menu on the left, click the relevant Studio.
  3. Click the relevant recording.
  4. In the top right corner, click Edit and choose + Create new edit.
Or scroll to Edits and click a Draft or magic-spark-icon.svg Magic Clip.
  1. On the Editor's toolbar on the right, click grid-classic.svg Layout.
  2. Click one of the static layouts: Grid or grid with gaps.
  3. Next to Video ratio, choose expand-02.png Fill to crop or size-icon_lg.png Fit to use the full frame.

When you choose Fit, the videos' frames are not cropped. They will usually be smaller and show more of the background frame behind the videos.
