Teleprompter controls

« To Studio teleprompter: Overview

Use the studio's built-in teleprompter to smoothly read notes or a script on a computer or phone.

Hosts and Producers (and external Producers if allowed)

Follow the steps below based on if you're using a computer or your mobile device.

  • Host and producer teleprompter controls from a computer

    • Click Text-plus.svg andText-minus.svg to change text size.
    • Click bold-01.svg,italic-01.svg, and underline-01.svg to format text.
    • Click scroll-speed-teleprompter.svg Scroll Speed and drag the slider to adjust the pace of the auto-scroll.
      The estimated total reading time appears above the slider.
      Speed can vary based on participant's browser size and more
    • Click start-scroll-teleprompter.svg Start to begin auto-scrolling the text.
    • Click teleprompter-restart.svg Restart to return to the top of the script.
    • Click pop-out-teleprompter.svg Pop out to move the teleprompter to a new window.
    • Click and drag the corner to resize.

    You can also use the keyboard shortcuts:

    • Push Spacebar to turn the auto-scroll off and on.
      You can also use your mouse or trackpad to scroll manually.
    • Push ESC to close the teleprompter.
  • Host teleprompter controls from a phone

    Currently, this feature is only available on the iOS app.
    1. Download and launch the Riverside iOS app.
    2. Tap Record, then tap Join.
    3. Tap the script-icon.svg script icon at the bottom of the screen.
    4. Tap the teleprompter-restart.svg Restart icon to return to the top of the script.
    5. Tap the start-scroll-teleprompter.svg Start icon to begin auto-scrolling the text.
    6. Tap thesettings-04.svg Settings icon to adjust your teleprompter setup:
        • Drag the Speed slider to set the auto-scroll pace.
        • Drag the Text size slider to adjust text size.
        • Toggle Auto-start to automatically start scrolling when you tap Record.
        • Toggle Focus Mode to hide the camera feed for distraction-free recording.
        • Toggle Share to display the teleprompter each participant's screen.
          When disabled, the teleprompter will only be visible on the host's screen.

Guests

If the host shares the teleprompter, guests can view the text added by the host and cannot edit it. The text's positioning on-screen matches the host's teleprompter.

When guests are also given control of the teleprompter by the host, each guest controls their own teleprompter independently to scroll through the text.

    1. Join the studio as a guest.
    2. Tap the teleprompter-restart.svg Restart icon to return to the top of the script.
    3. Tap the start-scroll-teleprompter.svg Start icon to begin auto-scrolling the text.
    4. Tap thesettings-04.svg Settings icon to adjust teleprompter display:
        • Drag the Speed slider to set the auto-scroll pace.
        • Drag the Text size slider to adjust text size.
        • Toggle Auto-start to automatically start scrolling when the recording starts.
        • Toggle Focus Mode to hide the camera feed for distraction-free recording.
