Search within a recording's transcript

Search through the transcribed text of a recording for faster editing and content creation.

Step by step

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  1. Above the timeline, click transcript_icon_bk.svg Transcript.
  2. At the top of the page, click the search.svg Search box.
  3. Type a word or phrase to search.
  4. Press Enter to highlight the term in the timeline.
  5. Click ⌄ chevron-down.svg or ⌃ chevron-up.svg to navigate to each result in the timeline.

You can search the text once Riverside finishes creating the automated transcription.

Text in sections that you have removed from the transcript or trimmed from the timeline is not included in the search results. Create a new clip or restore those sections to search the entire text.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut:

  • +F or Ctrl+F to start a search in the recording transcript

  • Enter for next search result

  • Shift + Enter for previous search result
