Configure Riverside with Microsoft Azure SSO (Entra ID)

Riverside for Business accounts can set up authentication with Azure Active Directory, also known as Microsoft Entra ID.

Contact Support or email your account CSM to get started, then follow the steps below.

Step by step

  1. Log into the Azure/Entra admin center.
  2. In the menu on the left, click Applications.
  3. Choose Enterprise applications.
  4. At the top of the All applications list, click New application.
  5. At the top of the Browse Microsoft Entra ID Gallery page, click plus.svg Create your own application
  6. In the Create your own application panel on the right, enter the name Riverside.
  7. Under it, choose Integrate any other application you don’t find in the gallery (Non-gallery).
  8. Click Create.

  1. On the Riverside | Overview page, under Getting started, click 2. Set up single sign on.
  2. Under Select a single sign-on method, click SAML-puzzle.svg SAML.
  3. Next to Basic SAML Configuration, click edit-pencil_script-editor.svg Edit.

  1. Under Basic SAML Configuration on the right, click Add identifier and paste the text provided by your Riverside CSM. (like riversidefm-example)
  2. Under Reply URL, click Add reply URL and paste the text provided by your Riverside CSM. (like http://riverside.fm/login/sso/example)
  3. Click save.svg Save and close Basic SAML Configuration.

  1. Next to Attributes & Claims, click edit-pencil_script-editor.svg Edit.

  2. Under Required claim, click Unique User Identifier (Name ID).

  3. Under Manage claim, check that Name identifier format is Email address.
  4. Next to Source, choose Attribute.
  5. On the Source attribute menu, choose user.mail.
  6. Click save.svg Save to go back to Attributes & Claims.

  1. Click plus.svg Add new claim.

  2. Under Manage claim, next to Name, type email.
  3. Next to Source, choose Attribute.
  4. On the Source attribute menu, choose user.mail.
  5. Click save.svg Save to go back to Attributes & Claims.
  6. Close Attributes and & Claims.

  1. Scroll down to SAML Certificates and click edit-pencil_script-editor.svg Edit.
  2. In the SAML Signing Certificate panel, click the menu next to Signing Option.
  3. Select Sign SAML response and assertion and click save.svg Save.

  1. Under SAML Certificates, next to Federation Metadata XML, click Download.
  2. Send an email to your Riverside CSM and attach the Federation Metadata XML file.
