Remove filler words

Remove distracting filler words like "um", "so", "uh", from your recording to improve the flow of your conversation in a single click.

Remove filler words

  1. Log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
  1. On the editor toolbar, click AI Producer.
  2. Next to Remove filler words, click Apply.
    Filler words, like um, uh, and uh, are cut from the recording's timeline.

Restore all filler words

  1. On the editor toolbar, click AI Producer.
  2. Under Remove filler words, click Revert to original

Restore a specific filler word

  1. Make sure your transcript shows deleted text.
  2. Locate the filler word in the transcript.
    Filler words you removed are shown in gray with a strikethrough
  3. Click the filler word and select revert-edit.svg Restore.

Icon.svg Good to know

  • Filler words are not cut out of the recording if they occur while someone is sharing their screen, a presentation, or a media board file.
  • Some filler words may not be recognized by the system as such. In these cases, they appear in the transcript as a filler-word-squiggle.svg squiggle, which is used to represent an audio disfluency picked up by the microphone.
  • You can apply Remove filler words to all recordings created or uploaded after 10 May 2024.
