Remove distracting filler words like "um", "so", "uh", from your recording to improve the flow of your conversation in a single click.
Step by step
Remove filler words
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
- On the editor toolbar, click AI Producer.
- Next to Remove filler words, click Apply.

, are cut from the recording's timeline.
Restore all filler words
- On the editor toolbar, click AI Producer.
- Under Remove filler words, click Revert to original.
Restore a specific filler word
- Make sure your transcript shows deleted text.
- Locate the filler word in the transcript.
Filler words you removed are shown in gray with astrikethrough. - Click the filler word and select
Restore.
Good to know
- Filler words are not cut out of the recording if they occur while someone is sharing their screen, a presentation, or a media board file.
- Some filler words may not be recognized by the system as such. In these cases, they appear in the transcript as a
squiggle, which is used to represent an audio disfluency picked up by the microphone.
- You can apply Remove filler words to all recordings created or uploaded after 10 May 2024.
