Correct the transcript and caption text

Edit a clip's transcript to correct the spelling of a word or add additional text to the captions.

Step by step

  1. On a computer, log in to your Riverside account.
  2. In the ☰ menu on the left, click the relevant Studio.
  3. Click the relevant recording.
  4. In the top right corner, click Edit and choose + Create new edit.
    Or scroll to Edits and click a Draft or magic-spark-icon.svg Magic Clip.
  1. Click transcript_icon_bk.svg Transcript to show the text.
  2. In the transcript, click and select a word or phrase.
  3. Click edit-pencil_script-editor.svg Correct.
  4. Type in the replacement text.
  5. Click checkmark.svg Correct to save the change.
    Or click correct-all-2-checks.svgCorrect everywhere to replace all instances of the word.

You can also use the keyboard shortcuts:

  • C to correct selected word(s) in the transcript

The clip's burned-in captions use the corrected text. The downloadable transcription and subtitle files and any other clips from the same recording also include the corrections.
