Can I use new editor features on past recordings?
Yes! Riverside frequently introduces new features in our editor. Any new feature added to the editor can be applied to past, present, and future recordings.

No, exporting and downloading a combined recording from the Editor does not use your account's available track download hours.

How can I add an opening narration to a conversation?
Combine clips from different recording sessions on Riverside using the intro/outro function in the Editor to add an opening narration to a conversation.

How can I adjust what the Magic Clip includes?
You can restore text from the transcript or adjust the cuts in the timeline.

How can I customize the color of my captions?
Copy and paste in a six-digit Hex color code from another website, design program, or your style guide.

How can I change the aspect ratio of a video frame in the Editor?
Open the Layout panel and turn on 'Keep aspect ratio' to have someone's video be uncropped.

Can I add and edit my own media assets, like a video or background music, on Riverside?
At this time, you can upload your own external media to customize and trim it, then add it as additional media with another clip.

Can I add a crossfade between media in the Editor timeline?
Not yet, but we know it's a common request. Stay tuned!

Is there a maximum length for a clip export from the Editor?
You can export a clip of up to 4 hours. Copy the clip and export in sections if its duration is longer.

What do markers look like in a clip?
Markers appear above the timeline as blue dots and you can use them as reference points when editing other clips.

What is the ‘Recorded on Riverside’ watermark?
If you have a free account on Riverside and you export a video clip from the Editor, a small animated watermark is added to the top of its frame. This watermark helps more creators find Riverside.

Can I rotate a video in the Editor?
Not at this time. You can change your device's orientation to record either horizontal video (landscape) and vertical video (portrait) when using the mobile app.

Can I use AI voice to generate a recording in another language?
Yes, by using AI Voice, you can create an audio recording of yourself speaking another language

Are Riverside's captions ADA approved?
Yes, with our editor, you can adjust the caption’s font size, style, and correct caption text to meet ADA requirements.

Can I export my edit with comments?
Currently, comments are not included in the transcript. However, you can copy your comment list, which includes all comments with timestamps that can be matched with the transcript or video.

How can I edit an echo out of my recording?
The best way to eliminate echo is to mute the speaker(s) you don't want to hear by muting an individual track or track segment.

How do I create a clip for social media?
Use the Editor to change the video's dimensions to fit on any social media platform and trim it to just the excerpt you want to share.

You can publish audio recordings to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts directly from Riverside by using Transistor for distribution.

You can send a collaborator a link a single recording session's High Quality Tracks and any exported clips or send them a link for all the sessions recorded in a Studio.

Free, Standard, and Pro users are unable to grant a third party editing access, however Business users can invite editors at any time.

Can Riverside provide hosting for my recordings?
Riverside does not provide a direct RSS feed for publishing or hosting podcasts. However, after you export a recording clip, you can use our integrations to publish them for distribution as full episodes.

What file types that can I upload to Apple Podcasts?
Apple Podcasts accepts WAV, FLAC, or MP3 audio files, but each must be formatted accordingly.

What is the difference between an aligned track and a raw track?
The aligned version adds padding to the start of the raw track for synchronization, if needed.

Constant Frame Rate (CFR) video files are tracks that are designed for editing on video software.

Can I change the default names for downloaded files?
You can change the name of a Studio and rename a recording session, both of which are reflected in the title of the downloaded file.

How do I convert a WAV file to MP3 format?
You can use Riverside's Editor to export your recording and select either an MP3 or WAV file on the export options panel.

What do audio-only participants look like on the cloud recording MP4 file?
If a participant has their camera turned off when recording, their individual cloud recording track shows a generic silhouette.

How can I extract the audio from a cloud recording file?
After the call ends, you can download the cloud recordings as MP4 video files. To convert a MP4 video file into an audio file, follow these steps.

How do I export my recording as an MP3?
Before you begin editing, you can use the Export as Audio-only button. If you've already begun editing, hide the video for each recorded track.

Where do I find the Aligned audio track?
Riverside creates an Aligned audio (WAV) track when your Studio is set audio-only. If you want to add similar padding to the regular Raw WAV file, use the Aligned video track as a guide to place the Raw WAV file.

How does AI voice work?

With Riverside's AI voice, you can convert written text to audio speech that uses your voice. Your recordings are not used for training. They are strictly used to generate new recordings at your command.
