No. Riverside does not support recording with a remote desktop application. Additionally, we do not recommend using NDI (Network Device Interface) to mount a webcam.

Can I listen to my own audio to test how I sound?
You can check how your microphone and other aspects of your setup are working by creating a short test recording with the Host and playing it back in the Studio.

How can I minimize echo in the Studio and on my recorded tracks? My Guests are already wearing headphones.
To minimize echo in a recorded track, plug the headphones directly into the computer/device, enable that participant's echo cancellation, select your device's built-in microphone, and enable Mix-Minus.

Why am I hearing an echo? My headphones are connected a to mic or interface.
We recommend that you connect headphones directly to the computer you are recording with instead of connecting them to an external device.

What is a Studio Access Link?
To join a Studio and record on Riverside, click or tap the Studio Access Link sent by the Host or Producer.

Can I Host a Studio but not be recorded?
If you do not want to be recorded, join the Studio as Producer.

What is different about the Producer role on a Riverside for Business account?
Like the Host, a Producer can also help a participant change their Mic, Camera, or Speaker as well as take other Studio management actions. However, a Producer does not create a separate High Quality Track during the recording.

How do I know if people are recording in a Studio?
You will see a · REC label in the Studio's lobby and next to the studio's name on the Studios page if someone is already recording in it.

Is there a time limit on how long a recording session can go?
There's no limit imposed by Riverside on a recording session's length.

What happens if I get disconnected from the Studio during a recording?
If you get disconnected from the Studio during a recording, the other people in the Studio are not impacted and the recording continues.

Screen Sharing
How does a screen share look to participants in the Studio?
When you share your computer's screen in the Riverside Studio, a new video frame is added to the Studio displaying what you selected to share. The frame automatically expands to be the largest one so other participants can see its content more easily.

Yes, you can include sound in a screen share, depending on what you choose to share.

Can I view someone's video when on another window or during my screen share?
Yes, you can use your browser's Picture-in-picture function to move a participant's video frame to other browser windows. This way, you can see a participant in the Riverside Studio even when you're on another window.

Speaker Notes
How can I access my speaker notes while sharing a presentation?
You can have another participant control the slides in Riverside while you present. The Host can also use the Script feature to copy-and-paste the notes into the Studio and have them available to scroll through. Additionally, you can export the notes as a separate file or print them as a reference.

The Host can bold, italicize, and underline text in the Studio's script box.

Uploading and Storage
How does Riverside work differently than other recording platforms?
Riverside records from each person's camera and microphone with more clarity than other platforms that only record what is broadcasted online.
