Steps on a computer
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Open a recording in the editor or upload an external file to start editing.
- In the transcript, click a silent moment like •, ••, or ••• [represented by dots depending on the duration].
- On the menu, choose Delete.
The pause is removed from the timeline content.
To bring back a pause, toggle on Show deleted text above the transcript. Then click the •• pause in the timeline or transcript and choose Restore.

Steps on a phone
- Open a recording from the Riverside mobile app.
- Tap Cut at the bottom of the screen.
You are redirected to an editable version of the transcript. - In the transcript, tap a silent moment represented by symbols such as •, ••, or ••• (indicating different pause lengths).

Tap Delete at the bottom of the screen to remove the selected pause.
Removed silences and pauses will appear in gray with a strikethrough. -
To restore a deleted pause, tap the grayed-out pause in the transcript, then selectRestore.
