Remove Silences and Pauses from Clip's Timeline

Use the Editor to cut pauses, gaps, and silences from your recording. This can make your content feel faster-paced and more engaging. You can cut one silent moment at a time or remove all silences at once.

Remove a Silence

  1. On a computer, log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Under Studios, click the relevant Studio.
  3. Click the relevant recording.
  4. In the top right corner, click Go to editor.
    Or scroll to Clips and click a clip with a Draft or magic-spark-icon.svg Magic Clip label.
  1. Click transcript_icon_bk.svg Transcript to show the transcript.
  2. In the transcript, click a silent moment silence-gap-symbol.svg, then click delete-remove_trash.svg Remove.
    The clip timeline cuts most of the silent moment.

To restore a silent moment, click it again and then click revert-edit.svg Revert, or click and drag the sections back together on the timeline.

Remove All Silences

  1. On a computer, log in to your Riverside account.
  2. Under Studios, click the relevant Studio.
  3. Click the relevant recording.
  4. In the top right corner, click Go to editor.
    Or scroll to Clips and click a clip with a Draft or magic-spark-icon.svg Magic Clip label.
  1. Above the timeline, click Quick-Tools-menu_star.svg Magic tools.
  2. On the menu, click silence-gap-symbol_short.svg Remove all silences.
    After processing the request, the Editor shows the total duration of the removed silences and smaller gaps.

To restore all the silences, click revert-edit.svg Undo above the timeline.
