Recommendations
- Connect your headphones directly to the computer instead of to the Scarlett interface's headphone output to minimize echo and hear the other participants in the Studio.
Troubleshooting
- Once the Scarlett is connected to your computer, confirm that the USB LED in the top-right corner is glowing green.
- If you cannot be heard in the Studio:
- Click the lock icon in the browser's address bar to confirm that Riverside and your browser have permission to access the mic (and audio interface).
- Check the mic/input sensitivity in the computer's settings.
- On a Mac, also confirm that the mic is not muted in the Audio MIDI Setup app.
- Adjust the gain knob of your microphone.
- If recording with a vocal mic, you will generally not need to activate the Instrument or Air buttons.
- You only need to activate the 48V (phantom power) button if using a condenser microphone.
- Each gain knob's LED ring glows green when there is an input signal present. It turns amber if the signal is close to clipping and red when there is digital clipping.
- If the audio signal is clipping, position the microphone further away from you or turn the gain down.
