Enable a Studio's Noise Reduction to filter out constant background noise like a participant's loud computer fan or air conditioner. The audio is filtered immediately in the Studio and on all participants' recorded tracks. Follow the steps below to enable Noise Reduction for a Studio session.

Important:

Noise reduction may degrade the sound quality of recorded audio. We do not recommend adding it unless you hear specific background noise that a participant cannot stop in their physical recording environment. You can also add processing to Remove Background Noise when you export a clip. For the best audio isolation results, be sure that all participants use headphones while recording.

Step by step: (in the Studio)

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Using a computer, join a Studio as a Host.

  3. At the bottom of the screen, hover over Mic.

    NOTE:

    Noise reduction is a filter applied to all participants' input devices. It can be added or removed only between takes. If the Mic menu is grey, stop the current recording first.

  4. Click the Noise reduction toggle to enable or remove it.


Step by step: (when not in the Studio)

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Click Home.

  3. Access a Studio's settings by clicking the Settings (gear) icon.

  4. In the Recording section, scroll to Audio.

  5. Next to Use noise reduction, click the toggle. The next recording will have noise reduction enabled or removed.
