Computer & Internet:

  1. Use a computer with the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser that is up-to-date.

  2. Temporarily turn off any VPNs, browser extensions, content blockers, or firewalls. (More info.)

  3. Check your internet connection's stability here.

  4. Temporarily turn off your computer's screensaver or its sleep mode setting.

  5. During the recording, close other browser tabs and applications that don’t need to be open, especially any that use your microphone or camera.

    IMPORTANT:

After you finish recording, leave the Riverside browser window open until you see the Upload Complete confirmation.

    NOTE:
As long as you can hear the other participants, you are still connected to the Studio. Your local recording will be higher quality than what you see and hear during the live call.

Audio & Video:

  1. Wear headphones to prevent echo and increase overall audio quality.

  2. Use an external microphone. Using the microphone in wired headphones is generally better than your computer's built-in mic.

  3. Before recording, check and adjust your micophone sensitivity settings.

  4. Test and preview your camera: riverside.fm/webcam-test.

    TIPS:

If you plan to share your screen, test it in the Riverside Studio before the recording begins.

If using a laptop's built-in webcam, put your laptop on something to bring the camera to the same height as your eyes.

If possible, record in a quiet space with daylight or with a lamp in front of you. The strongest light source should be in front of you, not behind you.
